And the Week Flies By…

I have some major updating to do about our school week. Before I know it Wednesday has arrived and I haven’t posted anything about what we’ve been doing. Monday we started new events in History (The Mycenaean Culture) and Linguistics (the words relieve, believe, conceive, either, field, thief, grief, wieners, neither, seize, conceived, shield, belief, being …

Whew! This morning has been crazy! We started off by completing another math lesson and reviewing for the Latin quiz tomorrow. Then I had to get 3 kids dressed, fed and ready to go for the End of Summer Carnival one of the moms from the ECHO group put together. I wish I had any …

My Little Artists

Today was fairly successful. While we weren’t finished by lunch, Blazer was more interested in our subjects as so we spent a little more time on each. Math was spent still working through Singapore. He is doing well with one lesson a day. We also finished the book How to Think Like a Scientist by …

Month Review

Happy Friday and last day of April. I am looking at the calendar we use for school hanging on the wall and am more than a little embarrassed to confess that while it says it April, all the days still line up with March. I am now officially two months behind. I am hoping to …

We’ve been having fun reading his biography and learning about cuneiform. So, today we had to get out the clay and make …

Butter Fail

I don’t know what I did wrong, but the butter was an utter disaster. We shook and shook the whipping cream. We refrigerated it for an hour. But when it came time to strain it and run water over it until the butter hardened, it all went down the drain So we will try again …

It’s been awhile

I will try to get better about posting more often! We had our weekly ECHO (homeschool group) meetup today. We were supposed to decorate pumpkins, but my husband misunderstood my shopping list item “small pumpkin” and brought home 2 10 lb pumpkins. I really didn’t want to carry 20 lbs of pumpkin into the library …
