Meet Strader Spiel

redgal0135Papa Bear is a programmer that is constantly working on something. He is also in charge of teaching Latin & Life Sciences. That is until May when he will be taking over Math as well! He can most often be found in front of his computer, although I can tear him away for a game night or family get-together which we always enjoy having and attending. His first passion has always been linguistics and dreams of the day when he can live in Iceland again (with us).

redgal0143Strader Spiel is the main contributor to the blog. She works part-time for various companies as an Independent Contractor doing Publicity and Database Administration. She is in charge of teaching Math, Grammar, Art, History, Linguistics, Literature, Bible, and Science. She also runs the kids to their various home school activities. She is the coordinator of ECHO (a local homeschool meetup group) and enjoys going to all the activities throughout the week.

504afa61-f925-11dd-84f7-001320cc7675wBlazer is our oldest child. He is 6 and can most often be found playing Mario. He is very imaginative and is always involved in some conflict in his worlds. He currently is obsessed with “Calvin & Hobbes” and “Peanuts” and will quote both randomly to whomever will listen. He is a very social child and will involve kids and adults alike in whatever game he is wanting to organize. His favorite subjects are Art, Latin, Science & Grammar. He thinks that Math & Literature “take too long”. However, he excels in both.

IMG_1155Racer is our middle child. He is very calm, deliberate and pleasant. We have not started anything formal with him as he is only 2 and is picking up so much from Blazer’s lessons. He enjoys painting, tapping on the piano, and vrooming his cars around the house and up the walls. His current obsession is any book with flaps or a wheel to turn. He will sit and snuggle for long periods of time and loves bathtime.

Miss C is our youngest child. She can most often be found nursing or rolling across the floor. The first girl on both sides of the family, she is spoiled endlessly.
