History: learned about the Barbarian invasion into Roman territories and Viking ravaging of the European coast. Started reading Beowulf. We have had a lot of fun with this unit. We read lots of stories about the different tribes, discovered the main difference between barbarians and Vikings were that Vikings were Scandinavian and conquered by sea, whereas barbarians conquered by land and were Eastern European. We were supposed to build a Viking ship out of cardboard, but instead decided to bake and decorate a Viking cake. Blazer picked out the project and I think he did a great job!
